Competition rules
Terms & Conditions
These terms explain who can enter, how paid and free entries work, how winners are selected and how prizes are awarded.
Last reviewed: 23 July 2026
Each competition page forms part of these terms. It contains the prize, ticket price, maximum entries, opening and closing dates, draw arrangements and any competition-specific conditions.
1. The promoter
The promoter is CompV2 Demo, company registration number 123456, whose registered address is:
123 Any Street, Any Town, AB12 3DEYou can contact the promoter at info@compv2.com. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean the promoter. References to “you” and “entrant” mean a person entering a competition.
2. Eligibility
- Unless a competition page states otherwise, entrants must be aged 18 or over and legally resident in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man or Channel Islands.
- Our employees, contractors directly involved in administering a competition, and members of their immediate households may not enter.
- You must enter using your own accurate name, address, email address and telephone number. We may ask for reasonable evidence of identity, age, address and eligibility before awarding a prize.
- Only one customer account is permitted per person. Entries made using false details, duplicate accounts, automated methods or another person’s payment method without permission may be rejected.
- It is your responsibility to check that entering is lawful where you live.
3. Entering a competition
- Follow the instructions on the relevant competition page. Paid online entries are complete only when payment has been authorised and the entry is recorded in our system.
- If a competition includes a question, you must submit the answer requested. Incorrect or incomplete answers may be excluded where the competition rules require a correct answer.
- The ticket price, total number of available entries and any per-person entry limit are shown before entry. Entries above a stated limit may be cancelled and refunded.
- Entries must be received before the published closing date and time or before the available entry allocation is exhausted, whichever applies first.
- We will not change a closing date unless circumstances outside our reasonable control make this unavoidable and the change is fair to existing entrants. Any material change will be displayed prominently.
- Tickets and entry numbers have no cash value and cannot be transferred to another person.
4. Free postal entry
Where a competition offers both paid and free entry, the free route is treated equally in the draw. No preference is given to a paid entry.
- Send your entry by first or second class post to:
123 Any Street, Any Town, AB12 3DE
- Hand-delivered entries are not accepted.
- Write clearly: the exact competition name, your full name, postal address, account email address, telephone number and the answer to the competition question, if there is one.
- Your details must match the details registered on your customer account.
- Each free entry must be sent separately. Multiple entries in one envelope will be treated as one entry.
- Correct, complete and eligible entries received before the closing date will be allocated an entry number and included on the same basis as paid entries.
- Proof of posting is not proof of receipt. We do not confirm receipt or whether an answer is correct.
- If an entry cap has been reached before a postal entry is received, that entry cannot be included.
5. Draws and winners
- The draw date and selection method are stated on the competition page. Eligible entries are included in a random selection process that does not distinguish between paid and free routes.
- We may use independently verifiable random-number software, a physical draw process or another clearly described random method.
- We will contact a provisional winner using the account details supplied. A prize is not confirmed until eligibility and the winning entry have been verified.
- If a provisional winner is ineligible, cannot provide requested verification, or has breached these terms, we may repeat the draw from the remaining eligible entries.
- We will take reasonable steps to contact a winner. The competition page may state a reasonable claim period. We will not withhold an awarded prize merely because a winner does not agree to marketing publicity.
- We may publish information sufficient to demonstrate that a valid award took place, normally the winner’s surname and county. A winner may object or ask us to reduce the information published, although we may still provide information to the Advertising Standards Authority where required.
6. Prizes and delivery
- The prize is described on the competition page. Images may be illustrative, but we will not substitute a materially inferior prize.
- A cash alternative is available only where the competition page expressly offers one.
- We will arrange delivery or collection with the verified winner. Unless stated otherwise, standard delivery within the eligible territory is included.
- The winner is responsible for costs arising after handover, including insurance, registration, tax, maintenance or ongoing running costs where applicable.
- Manufacturer or supplier warranties apply where available. We will provide reasonable information needed to use an applicable warranty.
7. Responsible participation
Only enter with money you can afford to spend. Customer spending limits and account-lock tools are available through My Account. Further guidance is available on our Responsible Playing page.
We may pause or restrict an account where reasonably necessary to protect a customer, investigate suspected fraud, comply with law or enforce a clearly stated entry limit.
8. Personal data and marketing
We use personal data to administer accounts, process entries and payments, prevent fraud, select and verify winners, deliver prizes and meet legal obligations. See our Privacy & Cookie Policy for full details.
Entering a competition does not by itself require you to consent to marketing. Where we send optional marketing, we will do so in accordance with applicable data-protection and electronic-marketing rules and provide a simple way to opt out.
9. Technology, liability and complaints
- We are not responsible for entries that are late or fail to arrive because of postal, network or device problems outside our reasonable control. This does not affect an entry correctly recorded in our system.
- Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.
- If we make an error that materially affects a competition, we will take reasonable and proportionate steps to put entrants in the position they should have been in.
- Questions or complaints should first be sent to info@compv2.com. Please include the competition and any relevant order number. We aim to acknowledge complaints promptly and investigate them fairly.
10. General
- If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply.
- A delay in enforcing a right does not waive that right.
- We may update these general terms for future entries. The terms displayed when you enter, together with the competition page, apply to that entry unless a change is required by law or is demonstrably beneficial and fair to entrants.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you retain any mandatory rights to use your local law and courts.
